rest in peace

intro is great man. drums at the start could be more balanced (EQ or sample-wise. theyre too top heavy imo. the kick needs more bass and the snare needs more mid).

1:04. too much reverb/release. try making these sections super dry to contrast and make it stand out.

1:37. the repetition is kinda annoying tbh. try making it variated in either melody or percussion, or just add another layer.

section around 2:24 is great. the part after tho is just a repeat of earlier, you shouldve added more layers (or taken some away) or made it somehow more interesting.

i think 3:45 shouldve faded into the ending, honestly. and the part after, again, is a repeat.

overall, you tried really hard to make this super long, which made it less interesting. also in some parts mixing was a bit off. sorry if this doesnt make much sense or if it doesnt help very much

Thanks for the review. I don't know how apparent it is, but at 1:37 and in the third drop the percussion actually does change into a more hardcore style briefly. Honestly it doesn't really feel that repetitive to me, maybe it's just all those other random melody songs around that make it feel that way. I just kind of try to do it in a more traditional way, personally. I can't really pull off that random element the way other people can.

im 122% sure that this is the best song ive heard on ng

you should really come back to this style of music. itd be super great

intro needs work, but its really nice, especially the drums

I'm proud of this really simple music, could have done better though. Maybe I'll do a second version at some point

writing this as i listen

ooh, asmr intro

hell yeah that piano, nice af chords

nice whispering in the background, it adds more depth :)

gotta love the strings

1;17, maybe make the guitar or whatever a little more clear, i cant hear the chords very well. maybe its the muddiness, couldve been eq'd i guess

1:45 hell yeah, more orchestral parts

overall this is really short, but there are a lot of litle touches that make it really nice :D

mixing is pretty bad, but its not that bad of a song tbh

sound design: 6/10
mixing: 5/10
creativity: 0/10
melodies and stuff: 3/10 its all piano riffs

yall need to stop with the toe jam remakes. just s t o p

unoriginal and shitty content

InstaSkillz responds:

Well this is a joke so...

ok im gonna write this as i listen to the song

first of all, you got some sick reverb skills. Usually the airy-ness is too thick for me, but you mastered it and its really nice.

Okay, those "weird" chords are actually super awesome. i feel like you took some basic chords and made them a lot more refreshing.

the buildup is great and leads right into the next section, with nice drums, usually i complain about the lack of impact, but theyre perfect this time. i do feel like the drop is missing something, but i dont actually know what.

3:08 is a really nice minimalistic touch. just a simple filtered saw (or whatever you used, idk).

3:40 is literally pure awesomeness.

At 4:10 i was really hoping for some drum variations. darn, kinda boring since its the same part as earlier. it does get better with the part after, though.

9/10, its just a bit repetitive

i make music n stuff
